Wet n Wild Summer 2016 Collection Haul & Swatches

Wet n Wild Summer 2016 Collection

I usually have a love/hate relationship when it comes to limited edition drugstore collections because they’re often very enticing but oh so hard to find. However, it’s all love this time around when it comes to the new limited edition Wet n Wild Summer 2016 Collection. This collection turned out to be beautiful and easy to find. Win, win! I spotted a display at the first Walgreens I went to and immediately snatched up both of the highlighting powders and one of the liquid lipsticks. Part of me is dying to go back and grab more because the liquid lipsticks and cream highlighter sticks are still calling my name. The entire display was just so pretty!

Wet n Wild Precious Petals + Crown of My Canopy MegaGlo Highlighting Powder

The stars of the show are definitely the new limited edition MegaGlo Highlighting Powders in Crown of My Canopy and Precious Petals. They’re two beautiful sparkling highlighters embossed with a flower print and loaded with fine glitter that took over social media before they even hit shelves. I just had to have them both! At first, I just had my eye on Crown of My Canopy, a warm copper bronze. But after seeing them both in person I decided it was only right to snag Precious Petals, a warm champagne, too. At $5 a pop it certainly wouldn’t hurt to add both to your collection. Especially considering that both shades will look good on pretty much all complexions. I think my fair skin girls may want to use a light hand with Crown of My Canopy though because it’s rather pigmented and the base definitely shines through. Which I really like! I wasn’t sure what to expect from the MegaGlo Highlighting Powders but after swatching them I have a feeling that I’m going to enjoy them. Both shades have a very soft, buttery finely milled texture that seems to adhere to bare skin well. The glitter seems a bit in your face in the pan but once swatched it looks more natural with stunning glow that doesn’t look too glittery or metallic.

Wet n Wild Indigo Your Way Color Icon Metallic Liquid Lipstick

Along with a set of new highlighters, Wet n Wild also introduces a new liquid lipstick formula in their summer collection. The Color Icon Metallic Liquid Lipsticks are the new kids on the block with a metallic kick and 6 shades to choose from. I’m up to my ears in liquid lipsticks right now so I decided to take it slow and ease my way into the new Color Icon Metallic Liquid Lipsticks but so far I’m liking what I see. I grabbed the shade Indigo Your Way which is a bright violet with a hint of pink and a ton of iridescent glitter. The formula has a soft, creamy formula that glides on smoothly and feels pretty good on the lips. It doesn’t seem to dry down though so it seems that it’s not the traditional liquid-to-matte we’ve grown to love. Instead, the Color Icon Metallic Liquid Lipsticks feel a bit more like the Too Faced Melted Metallic Lipsticks except they have a thicker, creamier texture and are much more pigmented. I’ve only been wearing Indigo Your Way for about 20 minutes now but I’m already a fan and plotting on going back for a couple of the other shades. If you manage to spot the new limited edition Wet n Wild Summer 2016 Collection at your local drugstore I definitely recommend scooping up a piece or two (or three) before they’re all gone. I have a feeling this collection is going to go fast!
