Makeup Revolution Golden Lights Vivid Baked Highlighter Review

Makeup Revolution Golden Lights Vivid Baked Highlighter

This must be the year of amazing drugstore highlighters because I’ve been discovering some true gems these days. First, Wet n Wild shook up the makeup world with the new limited edition MegaGlo Highlighting Powders and now Makeup Revolution has earned a spot in my heart (and organizer) with the amazing Vivid Baked Highlighters. I finally decided to give the brand a try while everything was buy one, get one half off and scooped up the last Golden Lights Vivid Baked Highlighters. I’ve had plenty guests rave to me about it so I figured it would be a good time to snatch it up while it was so cheap.

Despite the $6 price tag, I wouldn’t hardly consider Golden Lights Vivid Baked Highlighter cheap though. In fact, I like Golden Lights Vivid Baked Highlighter just as much (if not more) than some of my high end highlighters. Golden Lights Vivid Baked Highlighter looks like a pale white-yellow gold highlighter in the pan but when applied it turns into this stunning strong yellow gold that dances on cheeks with a ton of fine golden shimmer that doesn’t come off as glittery or metallic. I was blown away with how beautiful it looked the first time I tried it that I just couldn’t stop snapping selfies on Snapchat. I was completely obsessed!

Golden Lights Vivid Baked Highlighter has a soft, buttery texture that applies and blends smoothly over both powder and liquid foundations. It is slightly powdery but that’s to be expected from baked powders. However, Golden Lights doesn’t kick up too much product though because you only need to lightly tap your brush into the pan to get a serious golden glow. This thing is crazy pigmented! The first time I tried Golden Lights, I swirled my brush around the pan like I normally would with one of my Anastasia Beverly Hills or Becca highlighters and ended up applying way too much. The result was an insanely intense golden glow that could be seen from two blocks away. I lived! Of course, I can imagine most gals wouldn’t want such an intense highlight for everyday though so I highly recommend being as light handed as possible with Golden Lights if you want more of natural radiance. However, if you’re a glow queen like me then I say swirl on, sista!

Baked powders don’t always last very long in most cases but somehow Makeup Revolution managed to make Golden Lights virtually indestructible when applied. I’ve been wearing Golden Lights Vivid Baked Highlighter all weekend through some really long shifts and I still managed to make it home with glimmering cheekbones. Golden Lights wears for over 8 hours before I notice the slightest signs of fading on my dry cheeks. The wear time may be a little different for oily skin gals but I still think everyone will manage to get at least 8 hours of solid wear from Golden Lights without fear of your cheeks going dim. Overall, I’m highly impressed with the Makeup Revolution Golden Lights Vivid Baked Highlighter and I can’t recommend it enough. It’s one of the best highlighters I’ve ever tried!
