Urban Decay Naked Skin Ultra Definition Pressed Finishing Powder Review

Urban Decay Naked Skin Ultra Definition Pressed Finishing Powder in Naked Dark

There’s some things in life that go hand in hand. Like peanut butter and jelly. Or foundation, concealer and powder. You can’t have one without the other. Especially when it comes to foundation, concealer and powder. Even if you have dry skin you need a little powder to get you through a long day without your makeup fading, creasing or sliding off before you can even make it home. When I first started wearing makeup, I was not the biggest fan of powder because it always seemed to accentuate my dry skin and make my fine lines look even worse. Now, I’m starting to love a little powder here and there because it makes a huge difference in the way my makeup looks and wears throughout the day. The key is finding the best formula that works for your skin.

it seems that most setting powders on the market cater to oily skin to help minimize shine and oil while delivering a matte finish. However, those kind of formulas are the devil when it comes to dry skin because they suck all of the moisture out of skin leaving it looking dull, flat, lifeless and cakey. Not good! Urban Decay seems to have taken a different approach with their Naked Skin Ultra Definition Pressed Finishing Powder and my dry skin thanks them for it. The Naked Skin Ultra Definition Pressed Finishing Powder is a lightweight finely milled finishing powder that’s oil free so it’s suitable for all skin types–even dry skin. The formula is designed to blur and minimize imperfections, diminish shine and create a soft-focus finish. All of which it does very well!

The Urban Decay Naked Skin Ultra Definition Pressed Finishing Powder has a soft, silky texture that’s slightly powdery but adheres to the skin well and blends very easily. It has a slight tint but the coverage is very sheer so you don’t have to worry about it changing the color of your foundation or concealer much. I picked up the deepest shade, Dark, a warm golden bronze that suits shades 8.0 to 12.0 in Urban Decay’s Naked Skin Foundation. I finds that Dark adds just a little bit of warmth to my concealer but acts more as a translucent powder with my foundation.

Initially, I bought the Naked Skin Ultra Definition Pressed Finishing Powder to set my under eye concealer but I discovered that, like most powders, it seemed to slightly accentuate my dry eyes. I’m not going to lie. I was pretty disappointed with it. Until I decided to try it as an all over finishing powder for my foundation. It was love at first sight from there! My skin looked smooth and flawless from the moment I brushed it on. My makeup didn’t look dry, chalky or dull at all. The Naked Skin Ultra Definition Pressed Finishing Powder just gave it a soft, demi-matte finish and smoothed out my skin for a more refined, airbrushed appearance.

The Naked Skin Ultra Definition Pressed Finishing Powder is now my best friend in the morning (or for a night out) because not only does it play well with my dry skin but it also helps to reduce my little bit of shine. I don’t really get oily in my t-zone but forehead loves to shine bright like a diamond which is a major annoyance since it’s on the larger side. I’ve always struggled a bit with my forehead shine because I was always so picky about powders but Urban Decay has made my life so much easier (and my forehead less shiny) thanks to this silky wonder powder.

If you’ve been struggling to find a good setting powder then I highly recommend heading to your local Ulta or Sephora to give the Urban Decay Naked Skin Ultra Definition Pressed Finishing Powder. It’s a darn good option for all skin types and has a rather decent color range so it’s not too hard to find a good match. I’m so glad I didn’t give up on the Naked Skin Ultra Definition Pressed Finishing Powder because now I can’t live without it!

I’m glad it worked for your dry skin, I think I will give it a try soon along with the foundation. I think it’d be nice for the summer

    1. Hey girly! Sorry for the late reply! I’ve been wearing the powder and foundation off and on all summer and they’ve been working very well for me. I think you’ll like them too!
