ColourPop Black N Brown Brow Pencil Review
Finding a good brow pencil when you have sparse brows feels like finding a needle in a haystack. Some pencils are too creamy leaving brows looking too harsh and drawn on. Other pencils can be too stiff and too sheer not offering enough coverage to fill in those super sparse parts where there’s little to no hairs at all. My little ol’ sparse brows need all the love and coverage they can get so I’ve been relying on the super full coverage Anastasia Dipbrow Pomade for years to fake full brows. The Dipbrow Pomade has been a savior of mine for years but some mornings I hate having to deal with it because it requires precision, a light hand and plenty blending to look neat and polished. However, that isn’t always possible when I have to wake up at 6 a.m. and my motor aren’t fully awake until about 9.
I’ve been itching to add a good brow pencil to my morning routine on the days I’m just too tired (or pressed for time) to fiddle with my Dipbrow Pomade but I struggled picking one as Anastasia Beverly Hills set the bar really high for me. Then one day, I finally caught the new ColourPop Brow Pencil in Black N Brown in stock. I figured it was worth a try since everything ColourPop makes is gold. Let me tell you. The Black N Brown Brow Pencil is no exception! I’ve only been using Black N Brown for about 2 weeks and it’s already replaced my beloved Dipbrow Pomade. ColourPop has done it again!
The Black N Brown Brow Pencil is a deep neutral brown with a creamy texture that isn’t too emollient so it glides on well but it doesn’t look harsh or unnatural. Instead, the Black N Brown Brow Pencil looks incredibly natural yet still fills in all of my super sparse areas like a champ. Thanks to the built in brow brush and incredibly thin, precise tip, I’m able to fill in my brows in much less time than it takes to work with my Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow. Plus, it holds up just as well too. The ColourPop Black N Brown Brow Pencil lasts for well over 10 hours without smudging or showing signs of fading. I don’t believe the formula is waterproof but it still seems to hold up well in the sweltering summer head without sliding off. The Black N Brown Brow Pencil is actually quite impressive for a $5 brow pencil. It’s actually a steal considering that it’s much better than higher end brow pencils that I’ve tried (like Brow Wiz) and right on par with the MAC Eye Brow Pencil that’s almost 3 times the price. If you haven’t tried one of the new ColourPop Brow Pencils then I highly recommend you order one soon. Black N Brown is bomb!
