One of the many upsides to being a makeup blogger (and junkie) is that I get to try a lot of different new products quite often. Most times, I purchase them myself which makes my wallet a little sad but my face very happy when I pick products that turn out to be amazing. May was a super long month filled with a lot of sales and great collections that I needed in my life so I ended up hauling lots of new makeup that caught my eye. Was it a little expensive? Yes. Do I regret it? Nope! Most of the new goodies I picked up turned out to be some of the best products I’ve ever tried. In fact, a few of them ended up being in heavy rotation from the moment I picked them up. Score!

Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Cream Kit in Medium

Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Cream Kit in Medium I don’t always have enough time in the morning to go all out with a banging highlight and contour but on the days that I do I couldn’t be happier. I love to highlight and contour to add definition to my small, round face and give my chubby cheeks some depth and dimension. So you can only imagine my excitement when I received one in Medium after attending an Anastasia Beverly Hills training for work. Yay! The formula is a little a thick but it still works pretty well with my dry skin to help brighten my under my eyes and chisel my cheeks to perfection. The first time I tried it I was totally hooked because the result was absolutely flawless. My face looked very defined yet still pretty natural. I can’t believe I’ve gone this long without having the Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Cream Kit in my life!

Urban Decay Naked Skin Ultra Definition Powder Foundation in Dark Warm, Naked Skin Definition Pressed Finishing Powder in Naked Dark, Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer in Dark Golden

Urban Decay Naked Skin Ultra Definition Powder Foundation in Dark Warm I’m a little leery when it comes to powders because eI have dry skin and fine lines that can often look a hot mess when packed with powder. Some powders have a tendency to make my skin look cakey and even more dry than before but that isn’t the case at all with the Urban Decay Naked Skin Ultra Definition Powder Foundation. The formula is finely milled for a lightweight and silky smooth demi-matte finish that doesn’t make my dry skin look flat, cakey or unnatural. Instead, it smooths out my complexion and evens my complexion without a ton of blending. The color, Dark Warm, also works very well for me fitting me like a glove without making me look pale and ashy or too orange. The Naked Skin Ultra Definition Powder Foundation has become one of my go to foundations whether I’m in a pinch for time or just want to look flawless.

Urban Decay Naked Skin Ultra Definition Pressed Finishing Powder in Naked Dark Setting powders have never quite been my thing but the Naked Skin Ultra Definition Pressed Finishing Powder has hit holy grail status for me. It has a smooth, silky texture and very sheer coverage that looks amazing on top of all of my favorite liquid foundations. The Naked Skin Ultra Definition Pressed Finishing Powder also has a soft demi-matte finish that looks very natural and smooths everything out for an even, flawless finish. For years, I used to skip setting my foundations but now I don’t leave the house without topping off my liquid foundations with a little Naked Skin Ultra Definition Pressed Finishing Powder.

Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer in Dark Golden When Urban Decay first released the Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer it quickly became a hit but I couldn’t enjoy it because I struggled to find a perfect match. Thankfully, Urban Decay wised up and added a few more shades to the lineup including Dark Golden which turned out to be a perfect match for me. I was curious to see how I would like the creamy formula with its powdery finish so I went ahead and tried it. Now I’m hooked! I was worried the powdery finish may be a little too drying for my already dry under eyes but it turns out that the Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer works very well with dry skin. It seems that the powdery finish helps lock the formula in place keeping it from sliding around and migrating into my fine lines. It’s the only concealer that has come close to replacing my beloved NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer. Which is super impressive considering that the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer is holy grail status for almost every makeup junkie.

Makeup Revolution Nude Matte Blush, Golden Lights Vivid Baked Highlighter

Makeup Revolution The Matte Blush in Nude Since I like to switch up my lip colors so much I’m always on the search for the perfect neutral blush. When I spotted the Makeup Revolution Nude Matte Blush in Ulta I thought that it may be just what I was looking for–and I was right. The Nude Matte Blush is a neutral rosy brown that adds just the right amount of color to my cheeks to warm up my complexion and make my cheeks stand out without fear of clown cheeks. I’ve been wearing it every single day since I bought it because it pairs so well with every lip color, highlight or eye look I toss at it. If I had to live with just one blush for the rest of my life it would easily be the Makeup Revolution Nude Matte Blush.

Makeup Revolution Vivid Baked Highlighter in Golden Lights Just when I was starting to think that the Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow Kits were the best thing since sliced bread I decided to finally try the Makeup Revolution Golden Lights Vivid Baked Highlighter. I hate to admit it but I like it just a teeny bit more than my Glow Kits because Golden Lights delivers a seriously stunning golden glow that doesn’t require much building at all. The first time I tried Golden Lights I was completely blown away by how beautiful it looked on my cheeks and how well it holds up throughout the day. The Makeup Revolution Golden Lights Vivid Baked Highlighter is a steal at just $6!

Wet n Wild Precious Petals + Crown of My Canopy MegaGlo Highlighting Powder

Wet n Wild Crown of my Canopy and Precious Petals MegaGlo Highlighting Powders This is definitely the year of amazing drugstore highlighters because Makeup Revolution and Wet n Wild have definitely been bringing the heat this year! Both of the new limited edition MegaGlo Highlighting Powders Wet n Wild released in their summer collection were absolutely beautiful and amazing quality. Crown of My Canopy and Precious Petals both remained in my routine for a few solid weeks because they give such a beautiful glow that’s very natural without looking glittery or metallic. I was also pleasantly surprised with the formula as it’s very soft and long lasting. Wet n Wild should really consider making the MegaGlo Highlighting Powders permanent!

MAC Plum Princess Lipstick

MAC Plum Princess Lipstick I haven’t gone crazy for MAC in quite some time but this year things seem to be heating up at MAC and I’m slowly falling back into their vicious limited edition rat race. Thankfully, the Chris Chang collection didn’t turn out to be an intense mad rush so I was able to get my hands on everything I wanted–including the lovely Plum Princess lipstick. It’s a cool lavender with a hint of grey and a creamy matte finish that I just couldn’t stop wearing once I got my hands on it. Plum Princess quickly broke me out of my nude lip phase and pushed me into purple lips for a couple weeks last month. I’m very shocked that it’s still in stock online because the color is beautiful and the packaging is absolutely stunning.

Tarte Lights, Camera, Flashes Mascara

Tarte Lights, Camera, Flashes Mascara I’m pretty much a falsies addict for life but I live for adding a few coats of mascara to my bottom lashes to really make my eyes pop and give me that flirty, doll eye look. Lately, my mascara of choice has been the Tarte Lights, Camera, Flashes Mascara as it’s super lengthening and adds a nice boost of volume and curl too. It looks really good on its own but when I layer it with my It Cosmetics Superhero Mascara my bottom lashes really look amazing. I didn’t have high expectations for the Tarte Lights, Camera, Flashes Mascara when I first tried it but I think it’s pushing into holy grail territory. It’s really good!
