MAC Otherearthly Mineralize Skinfinish Review
There was once a time when limited edition MAC products would fly off the shelves in the blink of an eye. Literally the second a limited edition collection went live half of it was out of stock before MAC could even send out an email or text message. Now a days, it seems that MAC has learned their lesson and upped their limited edition inventory. Or people just got tired of the rat race. Either way, it’s a great thing that limited edition MAC products remain in stock a lot longer now because everyone can get a chance to enjoy them. A few months ago, MAC whipped up the Future MAC Collection which featured funky shades and futuristic designs to help you channel your inner time warrior. The star of the show was the Otherearthly Mineralize Skinfinish with its out of this world orb-like design that houses 3 sparkling highlighters all in one sleek black compact.
When the Future MAC Collection first dropped, I just knew Otherearthly was going sell like hot cakes and I wasn’t going to get a chance to get my hands on it. Surprisingly, Otherearthly managed to stick around for months after release so I was able to get my hands on it no problem. Once I got my hands on Otherearthly I couldn’t believe I waited so long to order it. Or that it wasn’t plastered all over Instagram and long sold out. Otherearthly is stunning! It features a shimmering golden bronze, a psychedelic duochrome pale peachy pink and a metallic silver. Each shade is big enough to squeeze a cheek brush (or fan brush) in to use separately but swirling them all together yields the most beautiful result. All together, the Otherearthly Mineralize Skinfinish gives a customizable rose gold glow that can range from warm and subtle to cool and pronounced. I absolutely love it!
The Otherearthly Mineralize Skinfinish formula is also quite the charmer. It’s a baked formula that’s nicely pigmented and easy apply with some pretty decent staying power too. Most baked powders have a tendency to be powdery but Otherearthly doesn’t kick up too much product during application and adheres to the skin very well with a soft, silky texture that doesn’t seem to emphasize pores much at all. In fact, Otherearthly seems to melt into my cheeks giving me a seamless glow that’s very light reflective and beyond gorgeous. It’s also very easy to blend whether I use a dense, fluffy cheek brush or my trusty fan brush. Otherearthly just glides on and gives me the highlight of my dreams that makes my cheeks look like they’re dripping in space gold. It also manages to stay put pretty nicely lasting for around 9-10 hours before showing some slight signs of fading on my dry cheeks. Overall, I think Otherearthly Mineralize Skinfinish is the most beautiful highlighter MAC has put out in quite some time. It looks amazing on all skin tones from fair to deep and the glow is just stunning. If you’re looking to glow like no tomorrow then I highly recommend ordering Otherearthly while it’s still available and on sale at Macy’s and Bloomingdales for just $23.
