Bask in the Light of the Hourglass Luminous Light Palette

Hourglass Ambient Luminous Light Palette

The Nordstrom Anniversary sale is a wonderful time of year when new fall collections and limited edition beauty products hit the market at crazy good prices for just a limited time. It’s pretty much like Christmas in July as you get to save big bucks on your favorite brands from Diane von Furstenburg to NARS. I love how Nordstrom likes to let us grab the new fall trends first at a great price but I’m always super excited about the exclusive limited edition beauty goodies that brands create especially for Nordstrom. I’m usually wooed by the MAC and NARS offerings but this year Hourglass stole the show with the new, limited edition Luminous Light Palette.

Hourglass Ambient Luminous Light Palette

It’s a beautiful cheek palette decked out in shiny gold packaging that’s luxe yet super lightweight and loaded with everything you need for glowing cheeks to get you through fall. The Hourglass Luminous Light Palette features:

  • Luminous Light Ambient Lighting Finishing Powder champagne pearl
  • Luminous Flush Ambient Lighting Blush champagne rose
  • Luminous Bronze Light Ambient Lighting Bronzer medium tan fused with champagne pearl

Basically, Hourglass equips you with a highlighter/finishing powder, blush and bronzer all in one palette for a sweet $62. Not too shabby right? The palette is very compact and super convenient for travel and it’s not too skimpy for the price either. The Finishing Powder and Blush contain almost half as much product as the full sized versions. The Bronzer is a little more on the light side in terms of product though. The full sized Bronzer contains about 3 times more product than the pan in the Luminous Light Palette but overall I still think the price for the amount of product is a rather good deal considering you’d be out of $134 buying all 3 separately.

Hourglass markets the Luminous Light Ambient Lighting Powder as a finishing powder but itĀ also doubles as a highlighter when layered. Luminous Light has a very sheer base with fine iridescent shimmer that can be applied lightly all over for a subtle, diffused glow that’s very soft yet beautiful. You can also kick it up a notch and layer on Luminous Light to amp up the glow factor and give your cheeks an ethereal lit from within glow that looks incredibly natural. The Luminous Flush is also very soft and sheer and gives just a pinch of color. It’s a little light for me but it seems to layer well to give me a subtle pinky coral flush with a teeny bit of sheen that keeps it from looking powdery and flat. I figured the Luminous Bronze Light wouldn’t work too well as a bronzer on my brown skin but it does make a rather beautiful highlighter. It has a bit more of a golden base that seems to be a little more pigmented than Luminous Light but not by much. I think I’m going to end up layering Luminous Light and Luminous Bronze Light for a gorgeous subtle glow that’s soft and natural. I usually go for a more intense glow but so far I’m digging the Hourglass Luminous Light Palette and think that it’s one of the best beauty buys the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale has to offer. I highly recommend checking it out before it’s all sold out!
