Matte Blushes for Summer!

MAC Fleeting Romance Pro Longwear Blush, NYX Code Breaker Ombre Blush, Tarte Tipsy Amazonian Clay Blush, Black Radiance Toasted Almond Artisan Color Baked Blush, Bobbi Brown Pink Blush

I know bronzer gets all the summer love but blush is still important too! A pretty blush gives you a healthy flush of color, balances your makeup looks and can even brighten and lift your face (and spirits). I know shimmering blushes aren’t everyone’s cup of tea though. Which is understandable because some of us don’t always like to shimmer or, in my case, love to pile on highlighters so a shimmering blush isn’t always ideal. Thankfully, there’s plenty of matte blushes on the market that not only add a touch of color to cheeks but also help to sculpt and add a little dimension helping your cheeks (and bronzer) pop even more. That’s why I’ve gathered my top 5 matte blush picks to help you find your perfect matte flush this summer. Take a look!

MAC Fleeting Romance Pro Longwear Blush

MAC Fleeting Romance Pro Longwear Blush ($27.00)

I live for a good coral toned blush for a natural flush of color and a little warmth which is why I love me some MAC Fleeting Romance Pro Longwear Blush. It’s a soft pinky coral with a hint of silver shimmer in the pan that manages to get lost upon application. Fleeting Romance is a widely flattering blush that looks great on everyone and brightens cheeks with ease. It has a very soft, creamy texture that applies and blends incredibly well without emphasizing the texture of skin or pores. Fleeting Romance is a wonderful summer blush for ladies who can’t get enough of color and want a matte blush that doesn’t look flat, chalky or dry.

NYX Code Breaker Ombre Blush

NYX Code Breaker Ombre Blush ($10.00)

Natural blush not your thing? No problem! NYX decided to add a little color to your summer with the new Code Breaker Ombre Blush. It’s a funky mix of hot fuchsia and grape purple that blends together to create a bold magenta pink with a smooth matte finish. Code Breaker is a nice break from the typical pink and coral blushes we usually see this time of year. Instead, it gives a serious pop of pink that seriously pops on all skin tones from light to deep. I highly recommend using a light hand with Code Breaker as it’s super pigmented. Thankfully, it’s still pretty easy to blend so it’s not the end of the world if you go a little overboard. I think Code Breaker will be a fabulous standout blush for makeup junkies who like their makeup a little more fun and bold for summer.

Tarte Tipsy Amazonian Clay 12 Hour Blush

Tarte Tipsy Amazonian Clay Blush ($28.00)

In case you happen to like the typical coral blushes brands push this time of year then you’ll probably love Tarte’s Tipsy Amazonian Clay Blush. Tipsy is a warm, pinky coral with a hint of shimmer in the pan but it has more of a soft matte finish when applied. The Amazonian Clay formula is slightly sheer and a little powdery but I like it because it’s incredibly easy to apply without fear of applying too much. No coral clown cheeks here! Tipsy is a great coral blush that looks great on a variety of skin tones because it’s not too pink and not too orange. It has the perfect balance that gives a subtle, natural flush of color that still manages to brighten cheeks. Tipsy is a great summer blush who coral junkies who want a natural everyday blush with a little more color.

Black Radiance Toasted Almond Artisan Color Baked Blush

Black Radiance Toasted Almond Artisan Color Baked Blush ($4.99)

Orange-toned blushes are my go to in the summer because they look incredibly natural on my brown skin and give me just enough color and warmth to make my skin look healthy and sunkissed. One of my go to orange blushes is the Black Radiance Toasted Almond Artisan Color Baked Blush. It’s a warm, burnt orange with a tiny bit of shimmer that gives it a nice soft matte finish that never looks flat, dry or chalky. Instead, Toasted Almond adds an extra touch of warmth to my bronzer and helps my cheeks look more sculpted and naturally flushed which is everything a girl could ever want in the summer. Toasted Almond is a little on the sheer side but it’s easily buildable and blends like a charm so it’s easy to get a little more color if you need it. It’s a must have for my dark skin divas!

Bobbi Brown Pink Blush

Bobbi Brown Pink Blush ($28.00)

A touch of pink on the cheeks makes me feel flirty, girly and pretty which is why I love Bobbi Brown’s Pink Blush. It’s a cool light pink with a matte finish that looks really pale in the pan but actually pulls more of a soft, rosy pink on the cheeks. Bobbi’s Pink Blush is the  perfect blush for faking that natural rosy flush you get when you’ve been working out or just been kissed. It adds a soft, feminine touch to any look and pairs nicely with pretty much any lip color you can thin of. I’ve rocked Bobbi’s Pink Blush with everything from nudes to vampy lipsticks and it looks beautiful every time. The formula feels dense and a little stiff in the pan but I assure you that Pink adheres to the skin well without looking dry or chalky and it blends very easily too. Bobbi’s Pink Blush is the ultimate pink blush that pretty much every makeup lover needs in her stash this summer.
