Make Your Imperfections Vanish with Hourglass
It’s always a pleasant surprise when I receive random goodies in the mail from Influenster but the latest Hourglass Vanish Vox Box is the best one yet. This Vox Box is bomb! Hourglass recently released a new line of foundation sticks and Influenster sent me one along with the coordinating foundation brush to review for you guys. I don’t usually reach for foundation sticks but I was still beyond excited to get my hands on the new Hourglass Vanish Foundation Stick because it’s been receiving glowing reviews since it released and Hourglass makes some seriously nice, luxury makeup.
The Vanish Foundation Stick comes in 26 shades from fair to deep and features an amazing formula that’s smooth, creamy and offers tons of coverage. The Vanish Foundation Stick combines the coverage of a concealer, creaminess of a liquid and weightlessness of a powder for undetectable full coverage. It’s a long-wearing waterproof formula designed to last for 12 hours and adjust to body temperature for smooth blending. The Vanish Foundation Stick comes in a sleek triangular bullet that’s great for hard to reach areas like around the eyes and nose for precise application. The formula doubles as a concealer so the Vanish Foundation Stick can also be used for highlighting and contouring. To sum things up, the Hourglass Vanish Foundation Stick is pretty much the most kick ass foundation stick you’ll probably ever try.
I took the Vanish Foundation Stick for a spin a few days ago and couldn’t be more impressed with the formula. First, I have to give Influenster a huge shoutout for always sending me the right shade and making the testing process easy as ever. I received the shade Walnut, a deep bronze with a warm undertone, that’s the perfect match for my skin tone. My skin has a bit more red than yellow so I appreciate the strong cinnamon undertone Hourglass whipped into Walnut. At first, Walnut seemed a little too orange but once applied it blended in perfectly giving me the seamless finish Hourglass promises with the Vanish Foundation Stick.
The moment I finish applying the Hourglass Vanish Foundation Stick I was completely sold on the formula. It’s smooth, creamy and blends well with a beautiful natural satin finish. It’s not too dewy and not too matte so it simply looks like skin that’s smooth and flawless without a filter. The Vanish Foundation Stick instantly evens out my complexion and covers my dark spots for a flawless finish that doesn’t look or feel like foundation. The formula is incredibly lightweight and blends pretty easily on my dry skin with a little buffing here and there. Once it’s all blended in, the Vanish Foundation Stick melts into my skin without settling into my fine lines like most of my foundations. It also seems to wear nicely throughout the day too holding up rather well in this intense summer heat without melting off my face or looking cakey by the end of the day. I’ve barely been wearing the Hourglass Vanish Foundation Stick for a week and I’m already addicted!
The Hourglass Vanish Foundation Stick is a superhero in its own right but every superhero needs a sidekick so Hourglass created the Vanish Seamless Finish Foundation Brush to go along with it. The Vanish Foundation Brush is a small yet dense dome angled kabuki brush with cruelty-free microfiber taklon bristles. It’s incredibly soft and very dense so it buffs and blends the Vanish Foundation Stick into skin with ease. The first time I tried the Vanish Foundation Stick, I used my trusty ELF Powder Brush to apply it and thought it was a little hard to blend but once I whipped out the Vanish Foundation Brush I immediately saw a difference. The ELF Powder Brush got the job done eventually but the Vanish Foundation Brush required much less effort and gave the Vanish Foundation Stick a more even, seamless finish. Sometimes I wonder if a lot of new releases are all social media hype but I’ve got give Hourglass their props for this one. The new Vanish Seamless Foundation Stick and Brush are the best things since sliced bread. I highly recommend heading to Sephora to check them out!
