Urban Decay Violate Vice Lipstick Review
When I first started wearing makeup, I used to live for bold colors as an everyday lip. As I get older, I find myself gravitating more towards nudes to slip on and go for quick runs and work days. But rocking nudes too much gets boring and repetitive after a while. Some days, I’m dying to rock a little color without feeling the need to pair a full face with it to balance things out. That’s why I appreciate Urban Decay creating the Violate Vice Lipstick. It’s a great everyday lip that doesn’t require much effort to make it work but it still adds just a touch of color to keep me from looking too nude and boring.
The Urban Decay Violate Vice Lipstick is a dusty pink with a slight purple undertone and a Cream finish that pretty much anyone can wear. It looks works well for light to medium complexions as a more sultry mauvey pink. While it lightly perks up deeper complexions as a soft pink that’s not too light and not too vibrant. Violate is the kind of pink you can easily slip on and go with just a little lip liner for definition. The moment Violate hit stores at Ulta, I found myself rocking it everyday because it’s just so carefree, easy to wear and super pretty.
While I’m obsessed with the color of Violate, I think I love the formula even more as it’s incredibly creamy and feels like butter on the lips. The Cream formula has a soft yet rich texture that lightly hugs the lips without emphasizing fine lines or flakes much at all. Violate has a super comfortable formula that’s easy on dry lips yet still pretty long lasting. Most creamy lipsticks fade away within an hour or two but Violate manages to hang tight for around 3-4 hours before fading into a light mauvey stain. I think all 100 shades of Urban Decay’s Vice Lipsticks are beautiful but Violate is hands down the most versatile and one of my top picks of the bunch. I highly recommend grabbing it from your local Ulta or Sephora!
