Is the BH Cosmetics Carli Bybel Palette All Hype?

BH Cosmetics Carli Bybel Eyeshadow & Highlighter Palette

We’ve heard it all before. “You get what you pay for.” When it comes to things like traveling, electronics and clothes this saying usually holds true. However, the saying isn’t always true when it comes to makeup. Sometimes, you get a little more than you pay for. Or a little less. It all depends. After months and months of many people singing the praises for the BH Cosmetics Carli Bybel Eyeshadow and Highlighter Palette I was beginning to wonder was it really all that great. Or just great for the price. I mean, you get 10 eyeshadows and 4 highlighters for under $15. Pretty much anyone could live with that right?

You know I love palettes and trying new things so eventually I got sucked into the hype and gave in when the BH Cosmetics Carli Bybel Eyeshadow and Highlighter Palette hit stores at Ulta. Did I need another eyeshadow palette? Or more highlighters? Nope. But for $14.50 I told myself why not. It’s a great deal either way.

Honey. This palette is more than just a great deal! I finally got around to trying the Carli Bybel Eyeshadow and Highlighter Palette this weekend and it’s certainly more than hype. This budget beauty palette is actually very impressive! And it’s not just $14.50 impressive. The shimmery eyeshadows are amazing quality and the highlighters are right on par with my Becca and Anastasia highlighters that double and triple the price of this entire palette. It’s really that good!

I used the deep shimmering gold and matte burgundy to create a quick shimmering look to channel these fall vibes I’ve been feeling lately and it turned out to be great. The shimmering gold was incredibly pigmented and super easy to apply and blend without much fallout. I actually picked up way too much product on my brush expecting it to be sheer but I was pleasantly surprised by the extreme pigmentation and buttery texture. The matte burgundy was a little more sheer and a tad more dry but it was still very easy to build and blend. The quality of the matte burgundy reminded me a bit of Urban Decay’s matte formula. It was soft and blended rather well but wasn’t nearly as intense as the shimmering shades.

I also popped a little of the gold highlighter on my cheekbones on top of the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Radiant Light. I honestly could have worn it alone and achieved the same intense glow factor because the highlighters are very pigmented like the shimmery eyeshadows. I used the tiniest bit of highlighter to make my cheeks pop and it worked like a charm. My face instantly look radiant and luminous without looking too overdone or metallic. Very impressive for a $15 palette, right?! If you’ve been wondering if the BH Cosmetics Carli Bybel is all hype I’m here to reassure you that it’s actually great quality and a pretty decent budget buy for the price. You definitely need to head to your local Ulta and at least swatch it!
