Shimmering Eyes & Nude Lips are Perfect for Fall
It’s officially fall and I’m kinda digging it! I’m not gonna lie though. I was happy to break out my boots and leather jacket but I mildly freaked out when the temperature nose dived and it started getting too cold. I love a good fall breeze but I live for mild 70 degree weather where I can comfortably rock boots, warm eye looks and a good caramel nude or vampy lip. That’s my kinda fall!
To kick off everyone’s favorite season of glam I decided to create a warm fall look that’s soft, wearable and pretty easy to create too. I pulled out some old favorites and some new ones to create a look that reminds me of the warm fall leaves we’ll be seeing very soon. There’s just something about all those beautiful shades of yellow, red and orange that makes my heart smile and inspires me to rock warm shades of yellow, orange and red myself all season.
On my eyes, I used the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette which is a must have for fall. It features 11 mattes and 3 shimmers in a range of warm and cool neutrals that’s suitable for all skin tones. I especially love Modern Renaissance for brown skin because there’s so many great crease shades to choose from making it a great palette to create complete looks from start to finish.
For this look, I started off by sweeping Realgar into my crease as a transition shade. Then, I layered Red Ochre on top to give my crease a warm sunset-like appearance. On my lids, I patted on Primavera and blended it into my crease a little to create a shimmering smokey effect. Finally, I added a wing using my Bobbi Brown Black Ink Gel Eyeliner and added my Ardell Studio Effects Wispies for a touch of glamour.
After I finished my eyes, I started on the rest of my face priming with Hourglass No. 28 Primer Serum to add a little extra moisture and keep my foundation and concealer from settling or getting cakey throughout my long work day. I applied my trusty Born This Way Foundation in Mahogany using my Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge and then used my new favorite concealer, Tarte Shape Tape Contour Concealer in Deep, to highlight under my eyes, down the bridge of my nose, my forehead and chin. Next, I used my trusty Black Radiance Concealer Stick in Deep to contour and pulled out my Tarte x MakeupShayla Tarteist Contour Palette to set my contour. I also pulled out my Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette to set my concealer with the Dim Light Powder which is an amazing setting powder.
To keep the warm, fall theme, I used my MAC x Taraji Collection goodies on my lips and cheeks. I can’t say it enough but I loved Taraji’s collection so much. It was made for dark skin beauties and the products are perfect! I brushed on a bit of the Taraji Glow Mineralize Skinfinish on my cheeks as a blush and then lightly layered Highlight the Truth Mineralize Skinfinish on my cheek bones for a soft gold glow. To round out the look, I lined my lips with NYX Club Hopper Matte Suede Lip Liner and then applied MAC Strip Me Down Lipstick to pull everything together. I love how well Strip Me Down compliments my brown skin and Taraji’s Mineralize Skinfinishes. Plus it’s pretty comfortable to wear and doesn’t dry out my lips much either.
And that’s it! I honestly could wear this look all the time because it’s soft enough for day but still has enough oomph to be carried into nighttime as well. I think this is a rather easy look to pull off that’ll look great on my light skin girlies and my dark skin divas alike. All you need is a good warm eyeshadow palette (like Modern Renaissance), a warm blush and a good matte nude.
