On Wednesday’s We Wear Pink!
Happy hump day, girl! For most people, holiday season is a time for rest, relaxation, plenty of good food and quality time with the family. That isn’t always the case if you work in retail, though. I’ve been busier than ever lately and haven’t had much time to play in all my new makeup like I want to. Now that we’ve got past Christmas, things are slowing down a bit and I have a little bit more time to crack open my new goodies.
One of the first things I reached for was the Juvia’s Place Mini Masquerade Palette. It has a gorgeous mix of neutrals and bold brights in a variety finishes from matte to foiled. I needed a little pick me up this week so I decided to skip the neutral look and go all out with pink lips and eyes this week. And since I was all pinked out I figured I’d share the look I created with you today. ?
I had used the Mini Masquerade Palette once before and was very impressed with the quality of the neutrals so I decided to give the brights a spin this time. I started off by sweeping Burkina, a warm medium brown, into my crease as a transition shade. Burkina is very close to my skin tone so it’s the perfect shade to help blend out deeper colors in the crease. Or in this case, more bold colors like Zobo. After blending out Burkina, I packed Zobo into my outer V and blended into crease expecting it to pull a little more plum but it ended up being a straight up bold pink. I was a little taken aback because it wasn’t the look I was going for but I figured I’d roll with it since it was already there.
To add a little more definition, I layered Ada, a warm brick brown, over Zobo which mixed into a warm cranberry color that looked beautiful. Next, I patted Calabar all over my lids carefully blending it into my Zobo and Ada mixture. The end result looked like a warm pink sunset in Miami. I loved it!
Because my eyes were so bold I wanted to rock a nude lip but I ended up leaving my color of choice at home. So I ended up lining my lips with the Iman Cocoa Perfect Lip Pencil and applying the ColourPop x Hello Kitty Lock Diary Ultra Matte Lip I had on hand. Lucky for me, Lock Diary ended up pairing very well with my bold Mini Masquerade Palette look. I actually loved how it pulled everything together. Perfect for Pink Wednesday!
