Project BOMB: Iman Luxury Contour Trio
Black History Month may be over but that doesn’t mean I can’t show my BOMBs some love! Even in 2017, you’d be hard pressed to find brands that cater to women of all skin tones. Especially the luscious chocolate ones. That’s why it’s so important to embrace, celebrate and support the brands that do. And what better what to do that than celebrate the #melaninmagic of brands created by black women themselves? Yaaaaaas, honey!
I’ve already given you the scoop on the fabulous Iman and her amazingly good Luxury Moisturizing Lipsticks from her iconic self-titled brand. However, I figured I’d be doing you a disservice if I didn’t share some of the other fantastic products in her line. Like the Luxury Contouring Trio that hit the scene last fall. It’s a simple face compact that includes:
- A deep, warm brown with very fine golden shimmer (contour)
- A warm bronze gold with fine golden shimmer (bronzer)
- A champagne gold with fine golden shimmer (highlighter)
They’re all rather pigmented with the contour and bronzer shades being more intense and the highlighter being slightly more sheer. I have to give Iman a huge pat on the back for creating the Luxury Contouring Trio because it’s truly perfect for brown skin beauties. The contour shade is actually deep enough to work on chocolate cuties and the bronzer and highlighter seriously pop against brown skin. I feel like a sun-kissed bronze goddess whenever I whip out the Iman Luxury Contouring Trio.
I normally prefer a straight up matte contour but the Iman Luxury Contouring Trio has certainly grown on me. The shimmer in the contour shade is very, very subtle so the brush barely picks it up at all. So instead of looking glittery, the contour shade simply looks natural and healthy. And I like it. A lot! I’ve actually been using the Luxury Contouring Trio exclusively for the last couple of weeks and I’ve been in love with how seamless it is and how well it performs. The contour, bronzer and highlighter all mesh perfectly together and look super natural against my brown skin. They also blend incredibly well and last me pretty much all day before I notice some slight fading around the edges.
Like the Luxury Moisturizing Lipsticks, the Luxury Contouring Trio is a little more expensive than other drugstore options on the market (about $16). However, if you’re a dark skin diva who’s been struggling to find a good contour and highlighter then I think the Iman Luxury Moisturizing Trio is well worth the extra coin!
