Project BOMB: Iman Luxury Moisturizing Lipsticks
Normally, I’m all about pink on Wednesday but today I want to do something a little different. Today marks the beginning of Black History Month and I thought it would be a fabulous idea to celebrate the beauty of melanin through makeup. It can be hard to find makeup when you’re on the deeper end of the spectrum. Luckily, there’s some amazing melanin beauties out there who have stepped up to create an entire line dedicated to helping women of all shades feel beautiful. Even the darkest of divas!
So I decided to kick off Project BOMB (Black Owned Makeup Brands) to showcase different BOMBs and products that are brown girl friendly and support our local communities. In case you’ve been living under a rock, Iman is a phenomenal supermodel who’s been featured in major campaigns and magazine covers from Versace and Vogue. Despite her breathtaking beauty and talent, Iman still struggled with makeup artists on set who couldn’t match her foundation properly. Can you imagine how frustrating it is to be the face of a campaign and they can’t even accommodate you? Apparently, it frustrated Iman to no end because she decided to branch out and create her own makeup line. And it slays!
Her Luxury Moisturizing Lipstick is an affordable lipstick with amazing quality that rivals some of my most expensive lipsticks. It’s really good! The Luxury Moisturizing Lipsticks are a little more pricey than your average drugstore lipstick ($10) but they’re well worth the extra few bucks as they’re very moisturizing (as the name implies) and surprisingly long lasting.
The Iman Luxury Moisturizing Lipsticks have an incredibly creamy yet lightweight texture that glides across the lips like silk while adding a little moisture. They’re also crazy pigmented so they last pretty much all day long (around 5-7 hours) without touchups. Impressive for a drugstore lipstick, right?
The best part? The Luxury Moisturizing Lipsticks come in shades that are WOC friendly so it’s not so hard (or intimidating) to find your perfect lipstick. From nude to purple, you’re bound to find a lipstick that pairs beautifully with your melanin. I own a handful of Iman Luxury Moisturizing Lipsticks including:

I love all of the Luxury Moisturizing Lipsticks I own because they’re so easy to wear and they’re all incredibly flattering. If I had to choose a favorite it would be Opal because it’s vampy and sexy so it really makes a statement when I wear it. However, you couldn’t go wrong with either of these beauties.
