Social media is seriously changing the world! Sometimes for the worst but most times for the better. Social media has a way of bringing us all together and introducing us to new things and people. It also has a way of bringing about the most peculiar collaborations in the beauty community. Like the new Becca x Chrissy Teigen Glow Face Palette that’s been invading my Instagram feed for over a month now.

Thanks to social media, the world has gotten a taste of Chrissy Teigen’s hilarious, quirky personality to see she’s so much more than a model and singer, John Legend’s wife. Chrissy Teigen has managed to charm the hearts of millions through her Twitter and Instagram account–including Becca. In fact, Becca was so charmed by the beauty that they’ve teamed up with her to create her very own limited edition Glow Face Palette. And the world swoons!

The Good

Becca is known for their high quality Shimmering Skin Perfector and Luminous Blush so they Chrissy Teigen Glow Face Palette is an excellent way to try the best Becca has to offer at a great price. Becca’s Shimmering Skin Perfector and Luminous Blush will both set you back almost $40 a pop. With the Chrissy Teigen Glow Face Palette, you get 2 Shimmering Skin Perfectors, a Luminous Blush and a Sunlit Bronzer for $46. The price tag seems steep at first but you get a lot of variety for a great price. Could you imagine buying all of these separately? Yikes!

The quality of the Chrissy Teigen Glow Face Palette isn’t too shabby either. Becca is known for outsourcing their limited edition palettes for production so I wasn’t surprised to see a difference in quality between the Glow Face Palette and Becca’s individual compacts. However, Becca didn’t cut too many corners as the Chrissy Teigen Glow Face Palette still performs quite well and lasts pretty much all day for me. The Malibu Bronze Sunlit Bronzer did absolutely nothing for me, of course. It was a little too light for my chocolate skin making it a better option for fair to medium skin tones. I had much better luck with the Hibiscus Bloom Luminous Blush even though I wasn’t expecting to. I had a feeling Hibiscus Bloom would be a little too pale for me too but it’s actually a beautiful summer blush for dark skin. Hibiscus Bloom showed beautifully without much layering and the faint golden shimmer gives cheek a subtle sun-kissed glow, too.

The Shimmering Skin Perfectors are definitely the stars of the show though! The Chrissy Teigen Glow Face Palette features Rose Gold Shimmering Skin Perfector and Beach Nectar. Both of which are universally flattering so they look amazing on all skin tones. Yaaaaas, Becca! Both Rose Gold and Beach Nectar are formulated with very fine shimmer so they never look glittery, gritty or too abrasive. Instead, Rose Gold and Beach Nectar deliver a soft, natural lit from within kinda glow that looks radiant and beautiful.

The Bad

You knew it was coming, girl! There’s no such thing as the perfect palette (except Modern Renaissance ?) so it should come as no surprise that the Becca x Chrissy Teigen Glow Face Palette falls a little short for some. I think the biggest turn off with the Glow Face Palette is its striking similarity to the Jaclyn Hill Champagne Glow Face Palette released last year. Which is cool and all if you missed it. But seeing as how Becca promoted the hell out of the Jaclyn Hill Champagne Glow Face Palette along constant restocks it’s hard to believe there’s a makeup junkie out here who missed it. So that leaves the Chrissy Teigen Glow Face Palette feeling like a flat remix of last year’s hit. Two gold based Shimmering Skin Perfectors? Check. Pinky peach blush? Check. Even the addition of the Malibu Bronze Sunlit Bronzer feels familiar as it looks quite similar to the Wild Honey blush from Jaclyn’s palette.

Okay. Let’s say you’re a hardcore makeup junkie and totally okay with the fact that Becca pretty much recycled the same palette with a different name. Cool. Now you have to deal with the difference in quality. If you’re new to Becca, you’ll enjoy the Chrissy Teigen Glow Face Palette like it’s the best thing since sliced bread. However, if you’re a diehard makeup junkie or Becca fan then you’ll easily be able to spot the iffy pigmentation and powdery kick up during application.

Again, the Becca x Chrissy Teigen Glow Face Palette isn’t bad quality. It just doesn’t live up to Becca’s typical quality which can be disappointing if you’re looking to get that Becca quality on a budget. The blush and bronzer especially are more on the sheer side whereas the Luminous Blush and new bronzers are quite pigmented and intense on their own. I wouldn’t consider this a deal breaker though seeing as how each powder still looks great applied and lasts well. But it’s worth noting.

Bottom Line

Overall, I like the Becca x Chrissy Teigen Glow Face Palette. Malibu Bronze is a bust for brown skin but the highlighters and blush are fair game making a pretty nice deal if you can live without the bronzer. I think hardcore highlight junkies and makeup collectors will enjoy the Becca x Chrissy Teigen Glow Face Palette for the packaging alone–no doubt. But if you’re looking for a lot of substance, quality or something different from the Jaclyn Hills Champagne Glow Face Palette you can safely skip this beauty.
