Ultimate Multi-Finish Shadow Palette in Electric

The NYX Ultimate Multi-Finish Electric Shadow Palette is small but packs a bold punch! It features 4 neon bright shadows including:

  • a bright cool baby blue
  • a vibrant chartreuse
  • a hot fuchsia pink
  • a bold teal

Each shade comes in 3 different finishes including matte, satin and metallic. The concept seemed weird at first. Until I finally used the Ultimate Multi-Finish Electric Shadow Palette. The different finishes help provide a lot of depth to your eyes without struggling to find coordinating colors. I like to wear the mattes in my crease and the satin and metallic shadows on the lid. Or in the inner corner for a bold pop of color.

Quality & Wear

The NYX Ultimate Multi-Finish Electric Shadow Palette isn’t a $50 high end palette. So the quality isn’t perfect. But it’s pretty decent for the shade range and the price. Neon bright shadows are hard to formulate. NYX still managed to take a damn good stab at it though. And I can’t be mad at that!

The mattes are the trickiest shades to work with. As they’re a bit chalky and require a little effort to blend. The satin and metallic shades fare much better. They adhere to the skin better for a smooth, even finish. Versus the mattes which can get a little patchy. The entire palette is plagued with kick back and fallout, though. So you’ll definitely want to do your eyes first with this one!

The NYX Ultimate Multi-Finish Electric Shadow Palette isn’t a sheer palette. However, you’ll start to lose intensity as you blend. So it’s best to pack on the color as much you can and then blend. I also recommend using a good eyeshadow primer, too.

On its own, the Ultimate Multi-Finish Electric Shadow Palette may get you through the day. But it won’t be as pigment packed and fresh looking by the time you get home. The wear drastically improves when you prime your lids first. I had great results using a concealer and translucent powder to prime. The shadows lasted all day long without much fading at all. Even in this humid Michigan heatwave!

Is It Worth It?

Absolutely! It’s nice to have such bright, bold shades in your arsenal this summer. There’s some fallout and blending issues. But I feel like that’s to be expected from a budget beauty palette. I still think NYX did a pretty bang up job! The quality honestly isn’t too far off from some of the shades in the Urban Decay Electric Palette. Not to mention these shades are all eye safe. I definitely recommend the NYX Ultimate Multi-Finish Electric Shadow Palette if you don’t mind a little extra effort!
