Slay All Day with this $10 Foundation!
Come thru, Maybelline! I’m not going to tell you how long I let the SuperStay Foundation collect dust in my stash. But I will say I regret not pulling it out sooner. The Maybelline SuperStay Foundation is nothing short of amazing!
The best part?
It’s only $10, girl!
All Day Long 24 Hour Wear
The Maybelline SuperStay Foundation makes some pretty outrageous claims. Like solid 24 hour wear. I can’t attest to that. I can’t imagine rocking foundation from sun up to sun down. Honestly, it’s not even healthy for your skin to wear foundation for that long.
But on the off chance that you do need your foundation to last all day. SuperStay will more than likely ride with you till the end! The formula is actually long wearing! I accidentally took a nap in it before making a quick road trip. My makeup held up rather nicely for a little over 9 hours. Still looking surprisingly fresh before finally removing it. You’ll easily be able to get through a full day in the SuperStay Foundation!
Matte, Full Coverage
Yes, another matte foundation! There was a time that chocolate cuties with oily skin struggled to find a decent foundation. Especially for under $20! So it’s nice to see Maybelline give a girl some options. Now we have Fit Me Matte + Poreless and SuperStay Foundation in a variety of shades from fair to deep.
The SuperStay shade range isn’t as extensive as Fit Me. Just yet. At the moment, there’s currently 16 shades and half of them are suitable for women of color. Not bad, Maybelline! I found a pretty good match in the shade 356 Warm Coconut. Warm Coconut is a cool deep brown with a slight red undertone. A great fit for my summer tan right now!
You can consider the SuperStay Foundation the older, more sophisticated sister of Fit Me Matte + Poreless. SuperStay delivers more coverage out of the gate and it seems to be more matte. I can barely finish one full pump of SuperStay. Yet my skin looks completely even and smooth. Even without color corrector.
Formula & Wear
Maybelline has been getting some rave reviews for the SuperStay Foundation. That’s actually what sparked me to give it a try. I can honestly say that SuperStay is definitely worth the hype! The formula is a little thick but still lightweight, creamy and easy to apply. I’ve had great results using both a brush and a sponge. And I’m pretty sure you could get away with using your fingers too. If that’s your thing.
I don’t wear makeup without a primer. So I try to test out foundations the way I usually do my makeup. With a primer, the SuperStay Foundation is practically unstoppable. I tried several different primers and the SuperStay Foundation held its own every time. I imagine you could get away without using a primer, too.
I typically struggle with foundation creeping into my smile lines. It still happens with SuperStay but not nearly as much. Nor is it as noticeable. The formula really manages to stay in place. So I can get through most of the day without the parentheses mouth. Plus, the rest of my face looks super smooth and flawless all day long. Who doesn’t want that?
The SuperStay Foundation is probably best suited for guys and gals with oily or combination skin. But us dry skin daisies can still get down with it! Just be sure to moisturize first. And maybe use a hydrating primer, too.
Is the Maybelline SuperStay Foundation Worth It?
Hell to the yes! She’s full coverage, long wearing and good for all skin types. Not to mention, she’s easy on the pockets at just 10 bucks. My only gripe is the availability. Naturally, the deeper shades aren’t always available at all retailers.
