Ulta Glowing Skin Haul

Ulta Glowing Skin Haul

I love makeup as much as the next girl but the older I get and the more I learn about skincare, the more I fall in love with it. A beat face is always eye catching but what truly sets it off is a clear, glowing complexion. Because what good is beautiful art painted on a canvas that’s dull and lackluster?

That’s why I’m loving that January is Glowing Skin month at Ulta. Winter can wreak havoc on skin so it’s important to arm yourself with the essentials to fight those winter skin blues so all your new makeup from Christmas can go on smoothly and help you look even more flawless.

Ulta Glowing Skin Haul

Now that Ulta Beauty has become my new home I’ve been spending a lot of time (and money) in my prestige department learning and trying as much as I can about all of the popular skincare brands and products. One of my favorite new brands is Peter Thomas Roth. His products are definitely pricey, however, they seriously work! I’ve been using my Cucumber Gel Mask religiously for months and it’s been keeping my skin hydrated, clear and in tip top shape. Now, I’m addicted to my Rose Stem Cell Bio-Repair Gel Mask mini so I decided to branch out and explore Peter Thomas Roth a little more.

I recently added 2 of his cleansers to my collection:

Gentle Foaming Cleanser I actually ordered the Gentle Foaming Cleanser from Sephora during the post holiday Sale on Sale for about $10 and I’m more than happy I jumped on it. It appears Peter Thomas Roth may be discontinuing the Gentle Foaming Cleanser as its no longer available at Sephora or Ulta but it’s a great gentle cleanser for sensitive skin–or anyone for that matter. I’ve been using the Gentle Foaming Cleanser every night and I love how clean it makes my skin feel.

Anti-Aging Cleansing Gel I’ve had my eye on the Anti-Aging Cleansing Gel ever since I first tried the Cucumber Gel Mask. It’s an oil free cleanser formulated with wonderful ingredients like glycolic acid, salicylic acid, peach, white oak bark and more to thoroughly cleanse, brighten and gently exfoliate the skin. The Anti-Aging Gel isn’t a super potent cleanser but I like to use it just once or twice a week since it can be a little drying or abrasive for sensitive skin. I’ve used the Anti-Aging Cleansing Gel twice and I was quite pleased with the pleasant peachy scent and how clean and soft it made my skin feel. I think it’ll be the cleanser I use before applying my Cucumber and Rose Stem Cell Bio-Repair Gel Masks.

On top of Ulta launching a ton of new skincare goodies, there are also Beauty Steal days where certain products are half off for the day. Although I’m clearly loaded on cleansers I still picked up the Perricone MD Hypoallergenic Gentle Cleanser because my General Manager and so many of our guests rave about his cleansers and creams. So it only makes sense to try it while it’s half off right? The Hypoallergenic Gentle Cleanser is a gentle daily cleanser that cleanses without stripping which is exactly what skin needs during the winter. I’m looking forward to trying it and telling you guys what I think about it.

Along with a handful of cleansers, I also picked up 2 new masks from Formula 10.0.6. I’ve never heard of the Formula 10.0.6 brand until I started working at Ulta but the masks caught my eye with their bright packaging and enticing ingredients like orange, citrus and bergamot. I picked out 2 masks including:

Deep Down Detox Ultra-Clearing Mud Mask I’m a mud mask junkie so the Deep Down Detox mask was my first choice. It’s formulated with orange and bergamot to detox impurities and brighten the skin for a glowing, radiant complexion. I’ve used this bad boy twice and I’m quite impressed. This is some serious stuff! The Deep Down Detox Mask really detoxes the skin for a thorough cleanse. In fact, I broke out a little a day or so after using it because it pulled out everything. Once my breakouts cleared, my skin was left glowing and flawless. I can’t wait to use it again!

Get Your Glow On Skin Brightening Peel Mask I’ve never tried a peel before so I thought a $6 mask would be a great start to get my toes wet. The Get Your Glow On Skin Brightening Peel Mask is formulated with papaya and citrus to boost radiance while removing dead skin cells, unclog pores and banish breakouts. I’ve only used this baby once but I really liked it. The peeling part was just as much fun as I thought it would be and my skin felt super soft, supple and refreshed afterward.

I also grabbed a mini tube of Clinique’s Turnaround Daytime Revitalizing Moisturizer in Golden Glow. It’s a lightweight, gel-based moisturizer with a hint of golden shimmer to brighten and boost radiance. I was curious after seeing a display of them at the cash registers and decided to give Golden Glow. It turned out to be hydrating with a soft, yet beautiful golden glow that I just couldn’t live without so I went ahead and grabbed it. Paired with all of my new skincare goodies I think the Clinique Golden Glow Turnaround Daytime Revitalizing Moisturizer will have me glowing into spring!

Have you tried any new skincare products recently?

Love this post! I’m a skincare junkie too! I’m going to look into these masks and the Perricone cleanser because my Tatcha oil is out. May be time to switch as we head into warmer weather. I love Ulta’s sales too!

    1. I’ve also heard some good things about Tatcha. How long have you been using the oil? How do you like it? I’m curious to try some of their products soon. I think you’ll like the masks too. I was blown away at how well they work for the price. They’re definitely a steal!
